Yes, this could very well be referring to what is going on around the world right now with those that choose to express themselves through angry means, but that isn't what I am asking about. Well, maybe it is because acceptance really does start at home and then we take it out into the world.

Acceptance can be practiced and acted on in so many areas of our lives. Maybe we could start small and work our way up completely accepting others.

This idea isn't new by any means and it is something I work to achieve every day. Some days I am more successful than others. The intention is there, the act is in process. I think the most challenging part to me is when others feel they have a say in how someone lives their lives. News flash; we have no say in how someone else chooses to live their lives. Sure we can have an opinion but ultimately, it is up the individual how they live and what they choose to do.

Recently I was contemplating this when someone thought it a good idea to tell me how I should live my life. They went as far as to tell me how I should feel and operate with my emotions. Yeah, this is where I had to practice acceptance about where they were coming from. I did ok, and then reminded them that I haven't been a minor for a very long time so unless there was some sort of time warp I wasn't aware of, they may want to zip their lips. I told you I was working on it. In process, I am.

I'll admit this is incredibly difficult to do with those that we believe we love or have loved in the past. That connection does not give us permission to exert what we believe to be in their best interest, it just doesn't. Somewhere along the line we became so self important that our way must be the way and I want to challenge all that are reading this to step back and assess whether you are that person who believes they have a right to say how others live. I don't care how long you have lived or what you've experienced before, you have not lived the days of the person you are advising or talking about so consider accepting that they have a personal GPS that will direct them.

Maybe they will ask for help. That will be great if they do. Then still consider asking them what they feel would be the best for them. I truly believe we all have our answers within and if we are willing to be quiet and with our own thoughts and feelings.

So, my theory is that if we work on this with those close to us, we can begin to take it out into the world. We can then accept that when another person lives differently than we do, it is NOT a reflection on us,  nor are they asking you to do and be how they are living. If they are, send them to this blog to remind them that they have no place or need to weigh in on your life, unless invited to do so.

As the challenge this week, perhaps when someone is acting or doing something YOU don't agree with, but is causing no harm to themselves or another, reach up and zip thy lips. Open your ears and heart and hear what they are saying. If you still can't shut your mouth, then ask for space and walk away.

I really believe that the more we respect each others way of being, the closer we will actually be to peace. Like I said, it is a theory and you are welcome to work your own theory. I accept that.

Minding my own business,

One of the questions I hear a lot is "what is my life purpose?". People so want to know why they came here and what they are meant to do. I take the inquiry seriously and offer reverence for the question and the person because I know how exhausting it can be to wonder this. Then I give the same answer to everyone because we all have the same life purpose in my humble opinion and that is to arrive at self-acceptance.

It sounds a bit self serving at first doesn't it? However, if you ask yourself what is more challenging on the long term prospect of being a human, acceptance of others or acceptance of self, what comes up?  Yup....self.  Being able to accept others, we could all do that with time and growth but of self, yikes!

So, in the question of life purpose...all the same for when we are self accepting, the love for everything is magnified and we will naturally appreciate others when we appreciate self and stop looking to others to do it for us.  Peace in the valley, I am telling you!

The path to this purpose is as varied as every being on this beautiful planet we have. (I'm not ready to move to Mars.) The path consists of what we've learned previously about ourselves, what we intend to learn moving forward and how we will apply all of this knowledge and help others with their path.

There is very little doing to this life purpose thing. Even by asking what am I here to do, it becomes an external process.  Like when I do something that is big enough I will feel that I have found my purpose.  It doesn't have to be so big and unattainable. The human tendency to make things so big so we can beat ourselves up getting there and then again when it doesn't manifest. Amazing isn't it?  Let's make something as limiting as wondering what my WHOLE life purpose is.  Why not in this moment?  What am I doing purposefully? What am I doing with all of my presence?

A gift I have received from doing sessions is, once I am in and tuned up, the building could fall down around me and unless the firemen are coming in with ax in hand (this actually happened once!), I keep on trucking with whatever is happening on my movie screen. Now, you don't have to focus that much but a bit less phone and computer and boob tube as my mother used to say and a bit more asking self what does life mean to you and how can you be moving in the direction of self acceptance would be fantastic.

This is one of the reasons I got so excited about the Belief Re-patterning. It takes those "I want to like me but don't know how" messages and switches them to "hey, I may just rock at this lifetime's thing".  If rocking isn't where a person is ready for, well, it eases one into an I like myself a little and I am going to expand on that NOW!

You know you can't get off that life path thing right?  There is no way to, so let's lighten up about that process too.  Anything you are going through or participating in is adding to the recipe of you. You didn't miss out on anything and you didn't screw anything up so much it can't be shifted. Be nice to you and start the process of what you really came here to do...love you.

I can't say I love you as I haven't met you all but I bet you are pretty cool and I would like you a lot,
Vicki

February 14th, to some a wonderful day full of candy, to others a declaration of love, to some a day to tie the knot (thanks Mom and Dad or I wouldn't be here today) and to some a day to whine and complain they don't have anyone to share the day with. Ahhh, Valentine's Day, you are so diverse.

I believe that love doesn't need a specific day to show up and to be told what day it falls on seems a little bossy to me. I like to choose when I express my love on my own thanks but I am grateful it helps some get through the winter bump of February and others a reason to be crafty and create valentines. I am also grateful that it helps those that may be looking for love in their life to dream a bit, perhaps put wonder in their life and a dash of hope. What I would love is for people to realize this is available without a holiday.

While creating the love in life does not come from stickers or one day a year, the theme does give us the opportunity to look at our habits and how we have attracted the love we have currently. We are big ole magnets walking around so if you have someone in your life, you attracted them there. This is true of your bosses, your partners, your friends and those people that annoy you. Congratulations, you are a powerful magnet.

Knowing you are this magnet can help when doing inventory in your life. Accepting that you have attracted even the partners or loved ones that are challenging can take courage but it is very freeing when you do it. Why is it freeing? Well, you can change anything that isn't feeling great or in alignment with your own beliefs as they are today. Giving yourself the permission and acceptance that change happens and that is a good thing will help you to realize any relationship this is no longer lining up and needs to be released is an indication of growth.

It takes a lot of courage to release those relationships especially if you are talking about a partner and a lack mentality exists. "If I let them go, I will be all alone." "If I speak my truth they will leave." "I don't do single well." "They wouldn't know what to do without me." All of these are excuses to keep yourself trapped in a situation that may not feel well to begin with. If you felt compelled to hit yourself on the finger with a hammer and after realizing it hurt, kept doing it, you would be in a similar situation.

We have to be willing to release what does not work in order to attract what will.

My husband and I have been together 27 years. 27 years! If you don't think you would get on each others nerves or be in a state of annoyance in all that time, you are delusional. We are not the same people who got together all those years ago. We have both changed and at times been willing to release the relationship because it wasn't lining up with whomever we were/are at the time. Many people have been amazed we are still together and honestly, sometimes I am too! One of the reasons we are is we both know we put the time into the friendship that is there as well as partnership. The drive-thru mentality of relationships does not exist in our house. If something is not working, we shift it. Granted, I like change more than he does so sometimes it isn't pretty, but it's honest and if you can't look at a partner and say, I can live without you, you have some work to do because a partner does not complete you nor is it their job to make you happy. That is a solo job and until you are willing to see that, relationships will be very trying because eventually people get tired of carrying another and have to release them.

So, if you are in a relationship or single and it is not feeling great, you have to look at self and assess what needs to be released in order to let in a little bit more light and love.
  • Do you hold anger about something that happened years ago?
  • Are you resentful the person isn't more like you? Doesn't read your mind or won't change to be who you want them to be?
  • Do you expect someone else to make sure you are happy and content with your life?
  • Do you have a perception of love that is all Valentines day and there is no place for disappointment, sadness and desire for more?
  • Do you love you? This one is important because if you don't, why would someone else? If you don't, perhaps seeking some help to learn to love you would be a good Valentine's gift. :)
Please take each day to be honest with self and those around you about what could be more fulfilling and in alignment with whom you are today. Get yourself to a place of loving who you are and what is so that you can line up with those that are doing the same. Refreshing isn't it when everyone is solid in who they are and aren't taking energetically from another? Amazing. I know you have that ability as I know we all do.

I wish you the best of love days...every day and send great big hugs your way,
Vicki

p.s. The candy part of the holiday is pretty cool too. I love the cinnamon hearts!

It is great to be prepared. That is why most of us purchase the original AAA coverage but I'm wondering how many of you have purchased the AAA belief pattern?

I'm talking about Aquired Age Anxiety. This week alone I talked with five people who have purchased this policy and didn't even know they were paying for it.

This AAA is where you believe, through an acquired belief system, one you've learned though parents, teachers, society etc., that once you've reached a certain age there are automatic road blocks.

As with any policy, people are able to fine tune the coverage they want. Some will start at 21 with the belief they can drink legally now and make fools of themselves. This second part is a rider added by certain individuals, but not all, and doesn't always stop at 21.

Around this same age is a freaking out that adulthood is here and I better get my butt moving. Some will. Others will tread water because they are denying what they've seen in anothers policies and they want no part of that.

The next seems to be around thirty with "what have I really accomplished?" Look at so and so, they've done so much! Then it's the forty and panic about a number and on and on. I really don't understand this because as I see through my work, each day could be your last physical one in this lifetime. Would you really want to spend it lamenting about what could happen in a limiting sense?

The longer we live, the longer people are purchasing policies. This is great because it means the longer we have to change up this mindset that a number has power over us.

It is also very challenging for some because they are using someone else's policy. The anxiety policy. The, I'm going to be fifty and don't like my life but woe is me, it's too late to change anything now. It makes me want to remove the hand they've attached to their forehead with Velcro and say "snap out of it!"

By virtue of definition, if you have something acquired, you have gotten it from someone else. PUT...IT...DOWN!  As your parents said, if it's not yours, leave it alone.

Since we are living longer and longer, doesn't it stand to reason that we could enjoy it rather than lament on it? You only run in to your own road blocks. If you are the one buying the policy, doesn't it make sense to not put those puppies in there?

I understand it may be challenging to shift a belief system that's in there. It is why I studied Belief Re-patterning in the first place. I know we can get some embedded in there that aren't serving us and could use someone to change that flat tire. While I'm no mechanic, I know how to change a belief tire. I can even give you a tow to the next vibrational level.

Ask yourself where you may be using someone else's policy and become clear about how you would like to write yours.  I know that after I turned 38 things got better and better. Was it always easy?  No. I had my own flats to change but lament about the age I am? Not a chance as I have a say over how I live, whether it is for a day or decades.

So, if you wish, trade in that policy you have and create a new one. One that says I embrace my experience and trust that others will as well.

Awesome Age Acceptance is also a AAA. Let us see if we can get that belief system to catch on, shall we?
